This Pulitzer Prize-winning classic features one of the most ravishing\, moving and endlessly inventive musical scores ever written as it depicts the struggles and sacrifices of George\, a fictionalized version of Seurat\, immersing himself deeply in painting his magnum opus\, and his great-grandson (also named George)\, a conflicted and cynical contemporary artist who finds the answer to his future in the past.
