DESCRIPTION:This selection of 22 works continues the celebration of art from the borderlands and starts a dialogue with other artworks on view at EPMA. Selections focus on textile works and potential additions to EPMA’s permanent collection. Several fiber-based artworks provide a border perspective to accompany the traveling exhibition A Beautiful Mess: Weavers & Knotters of the Vanguard\, on view in the Woody and Gayle Hunt Family Gallery from May 16 – August 18\, 2024. Introducing El Fresco Music Series – a free\, monthly\, summer music event held at the Convention Center Plaza in Downtown El Paso. \nMaking its return on May 10\, El Fresco promises a sizzling summer of entertainment. Each month will showcase a different musical theme featuring a fun\, diverse array of local musicians and talent from 7 pm – 10 pm. From Latin beats to funky rhythms\, country tunes to rock classics\, there’s music for all to enjoy in the family-friendly series with two bands performing each night. \n• May 10: Latin Music Night \n• June 14: Funk Night \n• July 19: Country Music Night \n• August 9: Rock Night \nWith its new brand identity\, the El Fresco Music Series captures the essence of El Paso’s vibrant community.
